Table of Contents (The module —)

The Table of contents module is used to generate a table with a list of all the content of your pages.

The module searches for the header tags (H1 to H6) and transforms those into a list of items used in the table of contents. Note that this module does not have the capability to generate a table of contents for multiple pages. However, used with the Views module, it is possible to create pages referencing multiple sub-pages.

The features include a way to number the items either with the automatic HTML ordered list feature (OL) or with an internal system that counts the headers and generates

XML Sitemap Setup

The XML Sitemap module allows you to submit your websites to several search engines:

  • Google
  • Bing (this includes Yahoo! which was bought by Microsoft)

You simply have to turn on the feature and the submissions will automatically happen. To do so, go to admin/settings/xmlsitemap/engines, open each search engine fieldset and select the checkbox, you are done.

Now you probably will notice other fields for the different search engines. Those are used to authenticate your site. It does not make any difference to the submission process. However, it can greatly help you when it ...

Your cell phone is hackable...

This is a quite interesting article which I thought I should share and keep a copy of!

Most of us, even if we can determine whether a piece of software (or hardware!) can be hacked, we just do not have the time to spend on testing each device we use to ensure that no hackers will be able to get it. We rely on the manufacturer to do that work for us.

This article shows that even though all manufacturers have protections, all are vulnerable! And that means your data is vulnerable on your cell phones... Hope this does not scare you too much!

Note by the way that those people who have plenty of ...

Internet Explorer “Save As …”

Today, I found a good one. Internet Explorer has a “Save As …” feature that let you save a page that you are visiting.

The page I have includes a table with a cell that has the align and valign attributes set to center and middle respectively. Once saved with Internet Explorer, these change to vAlign and align and center and middle respectively. Yes. Meaning that the values are swapped. Now the valign says center instead of middle, which will work with most browsers, but the worst is the align that is set to middle. That should never happen.

Google Web Tools

Today, I stumbled upon a new link in Google. A link that brought me to a page full of tools a webmaster can use to know how their website is doing according to the Google Spider (the program that search all the pages on your website.)

https://developers.google.com/search

I was not aware of the fact that you could download a CSV file (spreadsheet file compatible with Open Office and MS Excel) with all the errors last generated by the Google spider. You can also look at the errors directly in your account.

So… did I have errors? Well! Many. In part because each page is duplicated 3 ...

Order Made!® version 1.7 featuring Google Maps™

The software engineers at m2osw have been hard at work developing and testing the next major release of Order Made!®, version 1.7 that has an incredible new feature! Order Made! is a premier turn key website for patrons of restaurants to place their orders online.

Recently, Wayne Mok of the New Rice Bowl Restaurant in Carmichael, CA told us that the best thing about Order Made! is that it keeps he and his wife off the phone. They love to cook, and talking on the phone is often difficult and time consuming. But for delivery orders, Wayne told us they were still spending time on the phone ...

HTML Forms and the action attribute

Today I had to debug a set of HTML pages. One feature of a website would not work with Internet Explorer. The code was like this:

Turn Watcher 1.2 is out!

Version 1.2 now supports spell and other effect tracking. A optional new window appears at the bottom of the main window that allows you to add, edit and remove effects for the currently highlighted combatant. When an effect expires on the current combatant's turn, you are alerted and asked if you wish to delete the expired effect.

You may also add effects to multiple characters at once by highlighting them, then clicking the "A" button. ...
