Installation

Go to Administer » Site building » Modules and click on To Do Block to install the Block extension for the To Do module.

I changed the name of the module back to InsertNode (although I did not want to, I did not want to jeopardize the Drupal 5 version... which would probably have been fine, but well...)

So, the newer version of the D6 module is again called InsertNode.

To upgrade you will want to keep the other version running until you get the new version as the replacement (although you can manage your site the way you'd like this procedure let you switch from the previous version to the new version without having to turn off your site for a little while.)

Brief History

At the very beginning, a company created the SWF format to generate small vector animations on the Internet called Shockwave Flash (hence the name of the format, SWF.) It also included images. This company was bought by Macromedia around 1997 (if I recall properly). This is when Flash v3 was created. Since then, Macromedia created a new version about once a year up to version 8. At that time (in 2005/2006), Macromedia sealed a deal with Adobe which wanted to use the SWF format in their PDF files.

Today (May 1st, 2008), the SWF format is available for free to all.

For the last few days, Doug and I have been working on switching from our old server to our new server. The new one is with JohnCompanies.com that offers VPS (Virtual Private Servers). It was a nice surprise, the computer we have access to has 8 processors running at 3Ghz (”proven” by the Linux Bogomips computation: 5985.31) And so far, I’ve seen about 0.8% of one processor being used. The rest is 100% idle most of the time!

What is Reverse Proxy?

There are three excellent reasons to switch to a Reverse Proxy Server right away:

1. Protect all of the sensitive data on your servers;
2. Have only one gateway to the outside world;
3. Ease the load on your web server by allowing the reverse proxy server to distribute the requests.
