In order to compile the SSWF library and tools, you will need the following free tools and libraries:

• gcc/g++

• zlib

• JPEG library version 6b

• amake or GNU make

• bison

• the FreeType Project (For ft2sswf only at this time)

• libiconv

• Doxygen (To re-generate the dox only—optional)

Older versions of SSWF also required the following tool:

• flex

Newer versions of SSWF have a lexical.c++ file which removed the dependency on flex and added more flexibility for internationalization. Then a bit later a better flex with full internationalization support was coming out. 8-)
