We are happy to announce another maintenance release of SLiteChat, version 1.6.3. This release patches a major bug that was introduced on the 1.6.X line--when SLiteChat loses connection to the server and times out, a dialog pops up informing the user that the connection was lost. However, in previous versions, that dialog would pop up so many times recursively that it was shown that this crash could render the user's computer completely inoperative.

For those SLiteChat users who are experiencing the following error message:

Cannot log in! Reason: Login failure: data, First name parameter must be alphanumeric.

If you feel this is an error, please contact

support@secondlife.com.

If you see this error message, it is because you have a leading space in your Second Life name in the log in dialog. Just delete the space and you should be able to log in normally:

The SimpleMenu module for Drupal 6.x and 7.x offers a drop-down menu that inserts itself at the top of your browser window on your website.

The menu can be fixed or scroll with the page.

By default, SimpleMenu presents the Navigation menu in Drupal 6.x and the Management menu in Drupal 7.x. You can change the SimpleMenu settings to display a different menu and show it on another tag than the Body tag.

New version of the MO Auto add terms module for Drupal 6.x

We just made a few fixes to our module MO Auto add terms. We have now released version 1.9. This module automatically updates your Drupal pages with terms from your taxonomies making it a lot easier to manage a large index on all your pages.

As defined by Drupal conventions, the module should not generate any E_NOTICE errors. This version has most, if not all of them, fixed.

Got a URL with a weird extension at the end (i.e. not a .com, .org, .info, .tv...) Wondering where that extension is from? Some, you may know because it is the usual country code, such as .de, .fr or .it. Others are harder to know because you probably did not learn the name of the some 276 countries of the world (know of .fm, .vc, .vg, .ws and .ng?)

When I created my blog on Blogger, I felt like it was a bit dry at first. So I looked into what to add in the column on the side... Since I like to make friends on Facebook, I thought that adding my badge would be a good idea.

It is quick to do and everyone can do it, really! So... first log in both Blogger and Facebook. In Facebook, go to your wall and click on Edit My Profile. The link is under your picture (and I hope you uploaded a photo! People want to see your face!!! Not your dog or your car.)

Drupal Security Updates and Module Upgrades

As usual, we stay busy keeping our Drupal installation updated and secure.

We have just upgraded to Drupal 6.16, installing several securty updates to bring us up to date. Although security issues that the updates addressed have not affected our customers, it is our duty to our clients to keep everything up to date nonetheless.

One of our customers changed to a new domain name. This left his site with thousands of links pointing to his old domain name. Changing all of those links manually would have proven to be too time consuming. That's when Made to Order Software decided to create the MO Regex Filter Drupal module to answer his need. This module was then used to replace the old domain name with the new domain name automatically. Many days if not weeks of work was saved!
